  4. 1.55pm Tuesday 12th April 2005 Gas boiler exploded in the basement of Dept. of Nursing, UCC. • Building immediately evacuated. • 3 workers rushed to hospital • Everything left behind - Lecturers notes; keys; mobile phones • The building was declared unsafe: • No one left back in. • Cars parked in the basement were not accessible • After a few days • Lecturers allowed in to gather critical items. • Building remained unsafe for a number of weeks.
