Research Activities at Glasgow • Characterising online learning environments • Theory from psychology, education, sociology, etc to develop tools for analysis & understanding(McAteer et al 2002) • Coding for co-construction of knowledge(Chappel et al, 2002) • Methodological tools for analysis & interpretation • Online communities: theoretical perspectives • Reviewing research and practice literature, developing models for 'communities of practice' (Harris & Niven) • Developing models of information literacy for learning
