This study investigates the transcriptional profiles of the 3-Hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl-CoA reductase (hmgr) gene in Melipona scutellaris, a species of stingless bee. Conducted by researchers from the Universidade Federal de Uberlândia and the Universidade Federal do Mato Grosso do Sul, the research integrates hormone influences and caste differentiation in the species. Our results reveal critical insights into the role of hmgr in juvenile hormone metabolism, highlighting its significance in the developmental and reproductive biology of Melipona bees.
