  1. Behavioral Interventions Western Michigan University Spring 2008 Distance Course in: Amman, Jordan Jordan University Of Science & Technology Pictures available at:http://picasaweb.google.com/DickMalott

  2. Punctuality problem with time By: Esraa Tawalbeh

  3. punctuality raised from : It is too late to sleep 1- sleeping lately 2- getting up lately

  4. so : Always you are late , why ????? I had angry friend because i arrived her lately Then I drove quickly and i had risk to have punishment and accident Stop , you are very fast !!

  5. purpose To improve esraa's attendence to be on supposed time

  6. Baseline * baseline : is the phase of experiment or intervention where the behvior is measured in the absence of an intervention * I took 1week to collect baseline data * in baseline : - Iwent to sleep as normal - I got up on sound of alarm - no reinforcement or penalty from my friend . - i drove my car quickly as usually.

  7. this table shows data collected in baseline

  8. ** sleeping time : - earliest time = 11:30 - latest time = 2:00 You are late Go to sleep

  9. this graph shows time of getting up in days time days earliest time = 7:30 latest time =8:00

  10. this graph shows arriving time to my friend earliest time = 8:10 latest time = 8:30

  11. speed of driving range between 100 - 120 ( normal speed is 80) You are very fast

  12. baseline contingency I get more Sleep I have no Enough sleep I get up After 7 am *this is reinforcement contingnecy (it is response contingent include presentation of reinforcer to increase frequency of response ) * it is accidently reinforce me to get up after 7 am to get more sleep

  13. intervention first part :sleeping early i have 2 cotingencies to reinforce me to go to bed early : sD Before or at 11 pm after I will not lose opp. to have a kiss from mother immediately Before I will lose opp. to have a kiss from mother immediately Behavior I go to bed after I will lose opp. to have a kiss from mother immediately S∆ After11 pm 1- avoidance of loss

  14. that contingency is avoidance of loss (that is response contingent include prevention of loss reinforcer resulting in frequency of response • I have rule governed behavior ( behavior under control of the rule) and that is ( getting up ) • The rule ( description of behavioral contingency ) was that esraa must go to bed before 11pm to get a kiss from mother , but if I go to bed after 11 pm I didn't get a kiss

  15. 2- reinforcement contingency Before I have No enough sleep After I have enough sleep behavior I go to bed Early

  16. second part : getting up early • my mother asked me to get up at 6:55 then she returned to me after 5 min , if I didn’t get up , she would scream and start to shake me aversively within 10 sec cude avoidance Before Mum scream after No Mum scream behavior I get up at 7am Before I will have Aversive shaking Within 10 sec after I will have no Aversive shaking Within 10 sec

  17. previous contingency is cude avoidance of aversive condition ( response contingent include prevention of aversive stimulus resulting in frequency of response) • Scream is warning stimulus ( stimulus that precedes an aversive condition thus become a learned aversive stimulus )

  18. I have pairing procedure ( the pairing of neutral stimulus with reinforcer or aversive stimulus ) Aversive shaking Scream No Scream No aversive shaking

  19. third part : to be on supposed time with my friend (at 8am) after I will not lose opp. to have Nescafe SD At 8 am Before I will lose opp. to have Nescafe Behavior I arrive my friend’s Home after I will lose opp. to have Nescafe S∆ after 8 am analog to avoidance of loss reinforcer

  20. This contingency under rule control • The rule was that esraa must arrive her friend before 8 am to get Nescafe .but if after that she would lose it . You are good when you aren't late

  21. last part: driving carefully • Leaving home early lead to be on time so I will drive carefully ( within speed limit = 80) so I will avoid punishment or accident • We have 2 contingencies that maintain driving carefully

  22. 1- voidance of aversive Before I will have opp. to have Punishment after I will have no opp. to have Punishment behavior I drive carefully

  23. 2- avoidence of aversive condition Behavior I drive carefully after i will have no opp. To make accident soon Before i will have opp. To make accident soon

  24. result this table shows results for 6 days of intervention

  25. the graph shows arriving time and getting up time in intervetion phase

  26. Thank you
