Facts About Denmark • Denmark is one of the smallest countries in the world • With only 43,098 square kilometers of area and a population of 5,511,451 • The Kingdom of Denmark is a constitutional monarchy • As stipulated in the Danish Constitution, the monarch is not answerable for his or her actions, and his or her person is sacrosanct • sacred above and beyond criticism, change, or interference

The City of Copenhagen • Once a Viking fishing village, Copenhagen has evolved to become a major city today • Copenhagen is home to the world famous Little Mermaid statue • Every year on this day her birthday is celebrated by a crowd of women jumping in the waters surrounding the statue • Copenhagen is also home to the world famous Tivoli Gardens
