    Carried out during November and December 2007. Distributed to an online panel of 15,000 Irish people. Approx. 800 completed surveys returned – sufficiently robust to be representative of the overall population. Questionnaire also gathered demographic as well as travel-specific information enabling trends to be measured in sub-sections of the population.

    26% would become a space tourist if they had the money. 9% take trips to get away from friends and family. 21% can order a drink in five different languages. Books are the popular “must have” item people like to travel with. Having a swim is the thing most likely to make people feel they are on holiday. Round-the-World trip is the thing people are most likely to do if the won the Lotto.
