  1. Scotland Day 2 Highlands Trip Loch Ness

  2. Loch Ness is famous for the sightings of the Loch Ness Monster, or the locals lovingly call it, Nessie. The Loch, Scottish for lake, is approximately 23 miles long and 1 mile wide. Loch Ness has been shrouded in mystery with these sightings, but also made this very famous, where tourists around the world come and study the area for Nessie. Loch Ness was formed by platetonics and the glacier, which melted to form the fresh water loch. Do you believe in Nessie? Was unfortunate that we did not see it although we all looked over the two days we drove by and stopped. Oh well, maybe it still thought it was winter and was hibernating somewhere.

  3. Some of the pictures sort of repeat, I was just taking pictures around the area and sort of just tried to take pictures taking all of the scenery in. Too bad I didn’t have a panoramic view finder/camera part. That would have been spectacular. It’s hard to describe the beauty, I’m just not that poetic, but Loch Ness was not just another loch. Wish I can bottle the freshness and tranquility of the moment.

  4. Starting here we were on the east side of Loch Ness and above it, so there is no water, but in the “mountains”.You’ll be able to see when we reached the other side of the loch.

  5. This is where I bought the googley-eyed Nessies.
