Why do we screen? • To determine vision defects that would affect learning Need for Spectacle Correction Need for Amblyopia therapy Need for referral for other eye diseases
What are we looking for? GOAL OF VISION SCREENING: Detect Abnormal Vision Risk factors to visual development Timely treatment with greatest benefit Primary Goal – DETECTION OF AMBLYOPIA Secondary Goal – NEED FOR EYEGLASSES
