What is the Flu? • The full name for “the flu” is influenza • Influenza is a tiny virus that enters your body and attacks your cells • The flu virus causes you to have headaches, body aches, fever, and all other kinds of things that do not feel good • Source: cdc.gov, (2009, May 12).   10. How to Protect Yourself in School • Always wash your hands before eating, after using the restroom, and after touching another person • Turn away when someone sneezes or coughs • Don’t share food

  11. How to Protect Yourself at Home • Wash your hands before meals • Wash your hands after using the bathroom • Don’t put toys or other objects in your mouth • Wash your toys • Remind your family to wash their hands • Remind your family to cover their nose and mouth when sneezing or coughing.
