  1. Year 3 Curriculum Sharing Meeting Welcome to Year 3!

  2. Timetable • PE • Monday and Friday (3M) • Monday & Tuesday (3Mc & 3P) • Monday & Thursday (3R) • PE kit should be in school at all times • Music • Alternate Mondays • Recorders needed • Art – Thursday (3M) - Friday (3Mc, 3P and 3R)

  3. Maths • Sets – Created using SATs, TA and test completed last week. (The sets are fluid - changes will be made when we feel it is appropriate and you will be contacted before.) • Set 1 – Miss Miller • Set 2 – Miss Roe • Set 3 –Miss Pretty • Set 4a – Mrs Askew • Set 4b –Miss McGoldrick • Planning between sets is linked • Parallel Set 4

  4. Literacy • Reading Diaries • Class GPS & Comprehension • Text Types this term: • Traditional Tales • Information texts (dictionaries, reference books etc…) • Dialogue and plays • Letters for difference purposes • Shape Poetry

  5. Spelling • Children will be given a half term spelling list, which will be on the school website. • Weekly words will be differentiated and tested weekly (Friday) • There will be continuous work on suffixes in addition to learning high frequency words.

  6. Homework • Two pieces are set per week • Feel free to write notes in the Homework books indicating if your child required a support etc. • All homework should be completed in writing pencil and colouring pencils (when creating pictures). • Children should spend a maximum of 30 minutes on each piece of homework. • (An adult can sign off the work if 30 minutes have passed but the work is incomplete.) • Times Table Rock Stars – username and passwords are in the back of Reading Diaries

  9. Trips and Important dates • Chelmsford Cathedral (3M & 3Mc Mon 16th Sept) (3P & 3R Tues 17th Sept) • Harvest Festival(Fri 4th Oct) • Parents’ Evening (Tue 5th Nov & Thu 7th Nov) • Christmas Production (Tue 3rd Dec at 1.45pm and Wed 4th at 7pm) • Towngate Theatre – Panto (Fri 6th Dec)
