MyMHCC: File Cabinet & Syllabus File Cabinet & SyllabusTutorial • The File Cabinet is where you store the resources for your courses; documents & media. • Make sure you have an electronic version of your syllabus (PDF,html etc.) ready. Do you have a file management plan before you begin organizing your files? No need to click it is self propelled ….onward

  2. MyMHCC: File Cabinet • On the Portal Home page or any page click on My Pages in the sidebar

  3. MyMHCC: File Cabinet • Select File Cabinet

  4. MyMHCC: File Cabinet • You are now in the File Cabinetwhere you can organize your Coursework (tests), Bookmarks, Handouts and Readings • To upload a Handout (syllabus, important documents, media) select Handouts, • then Upload Files to File Cabinet

  5. MyMHCC: File Cabinet • Name the file • Browse (where is it?) • Describe the file. • Save Syllabus

  6. MyMHCC: File Cabinet • Your Syllabus is now in the File Cabinet Syllabus You are now ready to place your Syllabus in your course

  7. MyMHCC: Syllabus Placing the Syllabus in your course • Click on the tab My Courses

  8. MyMHCC: Syllabus • Select the course where you want to place the syllabus.

  9. MyMHCC: Syllabus • Select Syllabusin the sidebar.

  10. MyMHCC: Syllabus • You have two portlets to work with • Course Syllabus a custom content portlet and • Downloadable Version a Handout portlet • Click on Create Content in CourseSyllabus

  11. MyMHCC: Syllabus • You have many options on this page • Create a header • Add an image • Add text, you are limited to the number of words, maybe not enough space for a full syllabus • Use downloadable versionfor your full syllabus Limited to only 6,000 characters

  12. MyMHCC: Syllabus • Click on Go to Main Screen in Downloadable Versionportlet

  13. MyMHCC: Syllabus • Click on Import Handouts from File Cabinet

  14. MyMHCC: Syllabus • Check the file name (Syllabus) • Click on Import Selected

  15. MyMHCC: Syllabus • You have successfully placed your Syllabus in the Downloadable Version for your course.

  16. MyMHCC: Syllabus • You may want to change the Set (ungrouped) to “Important Documents” or “Syllabus and Schedule” • Click on the edit folder

  17. MyMHCC: Syllabus • Change the name of the Set • Save

  18. MyMHCC: Syllabus • You have now set up your Syllabus page. Congratulations!
