Number Maker 1 • Gather a deck of cards, a piece of paper and a pencil. Remove the face cards and jokers. Label your piece of paper with ones, tenths, hundredths and thousandths. 2 • With a partner take turns drawing numbers from the pile. Each time you draw a card from the pile write the number in one of your digit positions. The goal is to make a larger decimal number than your partner.
Rounding Race 1 • Gather 6-7 sheets of paper, scissors and two black markers. Cut the paper into 50 cards. Label each card with a dollar amount up to $999.99. 2 • Place the pile of cards between you and your partner. Flip over a card. The first player to correctly round the number to the nearest dollar wins the card. Set a timer and play for 3 minutes. The player with the most cards wins. Play again!
