  2. What are constellations? • First thing you need to know about constellations is that they are not real. Constellations are imaginary things that poets, farmers, and scientists have made up over the past 6,000 years. They help us tell which stars are which, that’s it. On dark nights up to 1000-15000 stars are visible in the sky. By having constellations we can break up the sky into more manageable bits. Technically speaking they are mnemonics, or memory aids.

  4. Capricorn • The Capricorn is visible form January 20th through February 16th. It is located in the Southern sky and it’s name means, “goat” in Latin.

  5. Aquarius • It is visible February 16th through March 11th. Aquarius is located in the Southern Hemisphere. Its name means water-bearer.

  6. Pisces • Pisces is visible from March 11th through April 18th. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere and it means fish in Latin.

  7. Aries • Aries is visible from April 18th through May 13th . It is located in the Northern Hemisphere. Its names means ram in Latin.

  8. Taurus • Taurus can be seen during May 13th through June 21st. It is located in the Northern Sky. Its name means bull in Latin.

  9. Gemini • Gemini can be seen from June 21st through July 20th. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere of the sky. Its name means the twins in Latin.

  10. Cancer • Cancer can be seen from July 20th through August 10th. It is located in the Northern Sky. Its name means crab in Latin.

  11. Leo • Leo can be seen from August 10th though September 16th. Its located in the Northern Sky. Its name means lion in Latin.

  12. Virgo • Virgo can be seen from September 16th through October 30th.It is located in the Southern Sky. It means virgin in Latin.

  13. Libra • Libra can be seen from October 30th through November 23rd. It is located in the Northern Hemisphere. It is Latin for weighing scales.

  14. Scorpio • Scorpio can be seen from November 23rd through November 29th. It is located in the Southern Sky. Its name means scorpion in Latin.

  15. Ophiuchus • Ophiuchus can be seen from November 29th through December 17th. It is located in the equatorial region. It means serpent bearer in Greek.

  16. Sagittarius • Sagittarius can be seen from December 17th through January 20th. It is located in the Southern Sky. Its name means the archer in Latin.
