  2. 2003 MARKHAMBUILDING EXCELLENCE AWARDS • To recognize new home builders who exemplify a high level of competency • Qualifying criteria based upon compliance with building code regulations, the building code act and site administration • Two distinct categories: - Small volume (5-24 units) - Large volume (24+ units)

  3. QUALIFYING CRITERIA • Building permits obtained prior to starting construction • Mandatory inspections requested by the builder and performed by the inspector • Registration with Ontario New Home Warranty Program and ZERO claims filed against the builder

  4. QUALIFYING CRITERIA • Number of inspections that required not more than two site visits to achieve compliance with the Ontario building code • Dwelling units occupied with approval • Building code compliance, tabulated from the building, heating and plumbing inspections conducted in 2002
