GEM-Ames trial summary - 2007 • Experiments: 48 (up from 37 last year – due to more racial sampling capacity and isolation in-kind support) • Replicated at 4 to 8 locations • Plots: 14,800 (up from 11,300 last year) • Private cooperators’ portion: 57% (down from 65% last year) • GEM portion: 43% (up from 35% last year) Germplasm Enhancement of Maize

GEM-Ames trial summary - 2007 • There are 170 (88 last year) GEM topcrosses that out-performed the yield of check means (out of 2330 entries of topcrosses) • 26 topcrosses out-performed the top check • The range of CV’s for yield was from 7.6 to 19.2% (only 1 expt above 15.5%) • Yield trial data - high lodging data this year (good selection for lodging resistant?)
