  1. Receiving Emails from Blocked Addresses in Yahoo You were receiving a lot of spam emails in your mailbox and you blocked the sender to resolve the issue. But, what do you see in the mailbox on next log-in, spam emails from the same sender. Have the ‘block senders’ feature not worked? Or spam filter not working properly? Was it not set in the right way? Here is what can be the possible reason; if you are getting emails from a blocked sender, there are chances that the ‘From:’ filed of the email address was altered and you have actually blocked the wrong email address. So, you need to spot the forged email address and block it. Spotting the Forged Email Address To see if the sender’s email address has been changed, check the full header of the email. For this: oOpen the email message. oClick on ‘More’ and select ‘View Raw Message.’ oLocate the full header at the beginning of the raw message. Compare the address at bottom ‘From:’ with the address in ‘Received’ or ‘Mailfrom’ field. The true address of the sender is the one at the top ‘Received’ or ‘Mailfrom’ field.

  2. Blocking the Forged Email Address Now that you know the true sender (email address) of the spam email you can either block it or set up a filter. Block an email address Move the cursor over settings gear icon. Select ‘Settings’ from the drop down. Click on ‘Blocked Addresses’ option at the bottom of left side menu. Enter the true email address of the spammer you have just spotted in the above section. Click on ‘Block’ button. Click ‘Save’ to apply the changes. You will not receive the spam emails now. Set up Filter Please remember that the new filter will be applicable to future emails and not to the existing emails in your mailbox. Follow the steps to create a new filter: Move the mouse over the gear icon. Select ‘Setting’ from the drop down. Click ‘Filters’ option from the left side menu. Click on ‘Add’ button on the right side panel. A pop-up window will appear, provide a name to the filter. In the filter criteria section, select ‘contains’ in the drop down in front of ‘From’ condition. In the field that follows; write the true email address of the spammer. Then in the ‘Then move the message to this folder’ drop down select ‘Trash.’ Click ‘Save’ to set the conditions. You will see the name of the filter in the text box on ‘Settings’ screen. All the filters you create are listed here. Click ‘Save’ again to return to the mailbox. If you still receive spam emails, contact Yahoo customer care technical support service for instant solutions.
