2. Team Captain Responsibilities • Your responsibilities • Register your team online. Helpful step by step directions later in this document. • Recruit friends, family, and co-workers to join your team; all team members must be registered by May 2, 2011. • Communicate Race information to your team – keep them motivated! • Encourage team member fundraising.Fundraising tips are included on our Teams website. This year’s goal is simple:every team member raises $100. Each team member asks 10 people to donate $10. See how easy it is to build momentum from there! • Don’t forget about the Sleep In for a Cure option! Even if they are out of town or have to work on Race Day, they can still be on your team raising money for the Cure. 3. Log-in (if applicable) • If you’ve participated in the Race before, start by going to our website http://www.komencentralva.org and logging in. If this is your first Race, just click the Komen Race for the Cure link in the center.

4. Form Your Team • From our homepage, under Komen Race for the Cure, click teams then click the Form a Team button.

5. Name Your Team Scroll down the page Name your Team Team Company (Optional) Team Division (Optional) Team Fundraising Goal (Optional) Team Recruitment Goal (Optional) Click Next Step

6. Choose Your Participation Type Choose YOUR participation type – other members of your team will be able to choose their own when they register Here you can also make a donation and set your personal fundraising goal Note: Discount codes are only for company-paid teams

7. Enter Your Information If you registered online last year, you already have a user name & password. You should log in to the system before starting registration. If you are new to online registration, create your user name & password here so you can log into your Race Center and manage your Team.

8. Read and Agree to Waiver

9. Review Your Registration Here you may also register friends or family members

13. Manage Your Team Scroll down and you’ll see your team’s fundraising progress

14. Manage Your Address Book You can add contacts in individually or import contacts You can also manage your contacts by categories

15. E-mail Your Friends Click on any of these links to see suggested messages to send to friends and family.

16. Send Thank You E-mails

17. That’s it! Then… Your friends and family can search for you by name or team name to join your team or make a donation

18. Your Team Page • Your friends and family can: • Click on member’s names to see each personal page • Click “Join My Team” to join • Click “Donate on Behalf of My Team” to make a donation to the team

19. FAQs Q: Can I register multiple people in one transaction? A: Yes, multiple registration will be available. Q: Can someone make a general donation to my team? A: Yes, we now have the functionality to accept team gifts. Q: Can I enter pledge money that I receive via cash or check? A: Yes, you can use your Race Center to record gifts you receive as “unconfirmed gifts” under “My Progress.” Once the affiliate receives the payment, we will confirm your gift. Q: If I’m registering a minor, can I make their information private? A: Yes; you can sign in to their Race Center and click the “Make my campaign private” link
