Matthew 28: 5 And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified 6 He is not here: for he is risen as he said Come see the place where the Lord lay 7 And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo I have told you. 8 And they departed quickly from the sepulchre with fear and great joy; and did run to bring his disciples word

  4. Why is Christianity unique? • All founders of religion are dead and gone! • Great philosophers are dead! • Great emperors are dead and gone • But Jesus is Alive! He’s Alive! He Got Up!

  5. The resurrection sets Christianity apart from religions! We are saved today because He arose!

  6. RESURRECTION APPEARANCES The resurrection of Jesus Christ was the beginning of Christianity. If Christ had not been resurrected and seen by many people (more than 500), Christianity would not exist today. Jesus made twelve appearances after his resurrection:1. His first appearance was to Mary Magdalene, on that early Sunday morning. (Mark 16:9; John 20:10-18).2. Jesus appeared to the women returning from the tomb. (Matthew 28:9-10).3. Jesus appeared to two disciples on the road to Emmaus. (Luke 24:13-32; Mark 16:12-13). HE IS RISEN

  7. 4. He appeared to Peter in Jerusalem. (Luke 24:34; 1 Corinthians 15:5).5. He appeared to his disciples and other followers, and also a second time to the two men from Emmaus, in a locked room in Jerusalem. The apostle Thomas wasn't there at that time. (Luke 24:36-43; John 20:19-23).

  8. 6. A week later, Jesus again appeared to his disciples behind locked doors, and this time Thomas was present. (John 20:24-29).7. Jesus appeared to seven of his disciples on the shore of the Sea of Galilee. (John 21:1-24).8. Jesus was seen by 500 believers at one time. (1 Corinthians 15:6).

  9. 9. He appeared to James. (1 Corinthians 15:7).10. He appeared to eleven disciples on a mountain in Galilee. (Matt. 28:18-20).11. He walked with his disciples along the road to Bethany, on the Mount of Olives, and then ascended into Heaven. (Luke 24:50-53).12. He was seen by Paul on the road to Damascus. (Acts 9:3-6; 1 Corinthians 15:8).

  10. What the resurrection means to us • Victory over death • Victory over sins dominion • It demonstrates the power to make a come back! • It demonstrates the reach of God,s redemption • There is healing for all • Jesus is Lord! • All things are possible now!

  11. Because He is Risen: Fear Not Divine Health Divine Prosperity Divine Success Divine Protection Divine Breakthrough Divine Blessings in all facets of life! John 14:19 Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live ye shall live also.

  12. 1Co 3:21 ¶ Therefore let no man glory in men. For all things are yours

  13. CELEBRATE! HE IS RISEN! • Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it • Re 1:18 I am he that liveth and was dead; and, behold I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
