SKILLS PLEDGE • Train and develop employees to sustain a qualified workforce with skills that enable career progression in a world class Nuclear Industry. • Gain recognition from Cogent Sector Skills Council national industry standards, enabling employees to attain the skills required to compete successfully in a global market. • Utilise the network of Quality Assured providers approved by the National Skills Academy for Nuclear to obtain high quality training and qualifications that add real value.   3. COMMUNITY APPRENTICESHIP SCHEME • Provides supply chain companieswith additional funding to enable them to take on Apprentices for the first time, or additional apprentices. (Funding contribution of £2500 to £5000 per year per Apprentice.) • Can be used on Apprenticeship frameworks which deliver skills for the Nuclear Industry • Apprenticeships delivered by Skills Academy Quality Assured Providers. • Helps Employers to build their resource capability for the future. • 38 appointed to date

  5. NUCLEAR SKILLS PASSPORT ® • Security: List X facility • Pilot 2: Last quarter 2009 and first quarter 2009 • Full roll out: Mid 2010 • Initial Focus on Supply Chain roll out • Working on Job Context to match to training needs • Basic Common Induction fully agreed, SLC review nearing completion

AWARD IN NUCLEAR INDUSTRY AWARENESS • Provides people new to the sector with an understanding of the nuclear industry. • Level 2 nationally recognised qualification. • Provides a comprehensive and consistent introduction into a growing industry sector. • Can easily be delivered as part of an Apprenticeship or Graduate Induction programme. • The Award can be delivered company or industry wide to an audience from vastly different backgrounds.
