  2. EASIER Reporting • Demographic Information • Assign a student ID for all preschool age children • Report free and reduced lunch—especially important for children in SWVPP classrooms • Each building and community partner has a four digit building number

  3. EASIER Reporting • Student Demographic Information • Report students on an IEP • Each building and community partner has a four digit building number • SWVPP programs need to work with community partner to include all information • Homeroom/HSAP Teacher folder number

  5. Data Elements needed to process the EASIER file: • Local Student ID • State Student ID • Grade • Homeroom/HSAP Teacher Folder Number • Free Lunch • Reduced Lunch • IEP • Student First Name • Student Last Name • Date of Birth • Gender • Hispanic/Latino • 5 race fields • Native Language

Data Elements needed to process the EASIER file: • Foster care • Days enrolled/Days Present/Unexcused • Resident district • Resident county • Exit date and Exit code • Destination code and location • Migrant • Immigrant • 1st date into US schools • Entry date in district • School number • Entry date • Entry code • FTE value

  7. Funding for Five-Year-Old • Five-year olds will be included in Certified Enrollment if the following criteria are met: • 5-yr old preschooler attending with a minimum cumulative FTE value = 0.50 • Student may participate in 1 classroom • Student may participate in more than one classroom • Teacher is properly licensed through BOEE • District holds the teacher contract. • Program is located within a district building • Program is part of the district’s continuum of educational services

  8. Additional Important Points • Offsite locations must report 4 year olds participating in the SWVPP • Offsite locations must report 3 and 5 year olds participating in the SWVPP • District buildings must report 3, 4, and 5 year olds participating in the SWVPP

  9. Kindergarten Literacy Assessment • Administer Dynamic Indicators of Basic Early Literacy Skills (DIBELS) or a kindergarten benchmark assessment adopted by the Department of Education (DE) to every kindergarten student enrolled in the district no later than October 1 [Iowa Code 279.60(16)];

  10. Kindergarten Literacy Assessment •  Collect from each parent guardian or legal custodian of a kindergarten student enrolled in the district, information including, but not limited to, preschool attendance and demographic factors; and • Report the results of the assessment and preschool information to the DE no later than January 1 of that school year.
