The Auxiliary Member Advisory Committee (AMAC) convened on April 10, 2014, to discuss its goals and the role of Auxiliary Liaisons in supporting military families, particularly in relation to the Survivor Benefit Plan (SBP) and Dependency and Indemnity Compensation (DIC) Offset. This meeting highlighted the need for increased involvement and assistance from Auxiliary Liaisons, who provide critical support to chapters and councils facing challenges associated with SBP-DIC offsets, affecting many surviving spouses. The total number of SBP recipients affected is significant, and strategies for advocacy were established.
