MISSION • Produce excellence in teaching, research, and scholarship that advances the discipline and provides service to the university and community, especially in the areas of cellular/molecular biology and ecology/environmental biology. APPROACH • Offer a broad curriculum that provides basic lecture and laboratory/field experiences for undergraduate students who wish to pursue studies in the biological sciences, and for pre-professional students planning to attend medical, dental, or veterinary school. • Offer advanced coursework and original research experiences that prepare MS graduate students for professional positions in industry, government agencies, and educational institutions.
