  2. Why bother? • This is ‘long’ two semester module with options and opportunities. You need to be able to keep track of your thoughts and ideas as the year progresses. • A place for you to record your impressions, ideas, thoughts … • A structured way of recording reactions • We will provide questions to prompt your thinking at sessions: • to help you note what matters to you • to help you evaluate your experiences LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

  3. Introduction to the Log • Use your A4 notebook for everything. • This is where you make a record of activities, notes, thoughts, reflections, ideas …. • Keep is safely. Use it all the time. • Hand written and you can stick things in • Your Assessment summary must refer to your notes and you hand the note book in as evidence. LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

What will you be reflecting on? • Your responses to the sessions and your thinking / doing in between • Your learning from each session • You will learn about: • Your skills, values and interests • Your understanding of enterprise • The ability to reflect is an important part of learning to learn, and is a normal workplace activity LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

  5. Assessment • 50% weighting • 2000 words summary reflection with the logbook attached. • Handed in on or before 12.00 0n Thursday May 1, 2008 • To Enterprise Zone, 4 Mount Preston Street LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

  6. Mark Scheme • You need to cover what you have learned under three about the following topics for which marks will be allocated as follows: • Enterprise 34% • Enterprise skills and attitudes 33% • Your personal understanding and learning development 33% LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

Marking Criteria • Marks will be awarded for the QUALITY of your information and reflection. • In each paragraph you would be wise to be clear about: • the statement you are making • Make a well-structured argument and • Give the supporting evidence from your Log, with the page number, and literature if relevant LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

  8. Example statements My initial understanding about networking was … . The session on … (p12) showed me that ……. Looking back at reflections p 7 I was saying …. But after week 6, (p21) my views had changed I had no idea about … but having done the …. Exercise (p) I now realise that I am regularly … its just that I hadn’t thought about it this way. When I started this was an elective that I was just filling in with. Writing about the … session (p ) I started to get involved. LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise

Example statements The lecture from … inspired me to look at … and read … My reflections (p ) show that I started to get much more positive about the module and the reading on … helped me to understand Basically I was doing this as an extra module and I haven't spent any time on it so writing this is really difficult. I keep forgetting the project needs doing. I know I should have looked at some more references to really understand the issues. I would expect the essay to get a low mark and I am really begging for a pass. LEED 2110 Skill Build for Enterprise
