~Comets~ • Made up of dust, rock particles, and ice. • Comets have been observed for a long point of time. • They have been watched since the ancient times, and were considered bad omens • They have 4 parts: Nucleus, Coma, Ion tail and Dust tail
Jan Oort • He was a Dutch astronomer. • He was the one who said that BILLIONS of comets surround the solar system
Meteoroids • Composed of the left over dust, and particles of a comet • Very small in size, its not harmful to Earth • Once a Meteoroid enters the atmosphere, its is a meteor • A meteorite is the piece of the rock that IMPACTS, and hits the ground on Earth
