  2. Temptation is Still Present for Christians Too • Pleasure I Corinthians 10:7, 14 7 Do not be idolaters as some of them were; as it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink and rose up to play.”… 14 Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

Temptation is Still Present for Christians Too • Pleasure • Companions 1 Peter 4:3-4 3 For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry. 4 With respect to this they are surprised when you do not join them in the same flood of debauchery, and they malign you;

Temptation is Still Present for Christians Too • Pleasure • Companions • Materialism 1 Timothy 6:9-10 9 But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.10 For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evils. It is through this craving that some have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many pangs.

But if anyone does sin, we have an advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.

And if anyone does not stumble in what he says, he is a perfect man, able also to bridle his whole body. All struggles are not the same, but all struggle!

  16. If Sin is Present, so Must Also be the Cure for Sin SIN is why Jesus suffered and died 1 Peter 3:18 18 For Christ also suffered once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh but made alive in the spirit,.

If Sin is Present, so Must Also be the Cure for Sin 4 We were buried therefore with him by baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life. 5 For if we have been united with him in a death like his, we shall certainly be united with him in a resurrection like his. 6 We know that our old self  was crucified with him in order that the body of sin might be brought to nothing, so that we would no longer be enslaved to sin. Romans 6:4-6 Possible now to have a new life!!!

  18. If Sin is Present, so Must Also be the Cure for Sin 1 Peter 3:21 Baptism, which corresponds to this, now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but as an appeal to God for a good conscience, through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, Not by water, but by an obedient appeal to God

  19. If Sin is Present, so Must Also be the Cure for Sin Luke 17:4 …and if he sins against you seven times in the day, and turns to you seven times, saying, ‘I repent,’ you must forgive him. . Sometimes we must make it right with others

  20. If Sin is Present, so Must Also be the Cure for Sin 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteous-ness. Always we must make it right with God

  21. If Sin is Present, so Must Also be the Cure for Sin • The result of the cure is… • forgiveness • renewal • cleansing • Jesus paid OUR debt for sin Acknowledge and praise Jesus Christ for His marvelous grace and sacrifice. Will you partake?
