  1. How can you Improve the Air Quality at Home?

  2. Breathing in the polluted air can impact your health and well-being. It can affect your respiratory health and may cause irreversible harm to your lungs. This is why you must be careful about the air you inhale. Whether you are outdoors or indoors, the quality of air is crucial.  According to experts, the indoor air can be 100 times more polluted than the outside air. As far as the health effects are concerned, breathing in polluted air can result in pneumonia, heart problems, asthma, and allergic reactions.  Thus, here are a few steps you can take to improve the air quality and prevent these respiratory problems. Let’s have a look!

  3. Get rid of pollutants: To improve the quality of indoor air, one way is to identify the common sources of pollutants and eliminate them. These include radon, a natural radioactive gas; secondhand smoke exhaled from cigarettes, formaldehyde, a volatile organic compound, and harmful chemicals from gas cleaners or air fresheners. To ensure you breathe clean air, you should be careful to minimise the levels of these pollutants. 2. Control allergens: Typically, the indoor space is full of allergens and irritants, like dust, mould, dust mites, and pet dander. Eliminating these allergens can improve the overall quality of air in your home and reduce the chances of experiencing respiratory problems like runny nose, skin rashes, itching, sore throat, and sneezing.

  4. 3. Install air purifiers: If your indoor air is polluted and unclean, one effective way to get rid of the pollutants is to use an air purifier. By removing harmful particles, they allow you to breathe in clean and purified air. By installing an air purifier at home, you can reduce VOC, smoke, allergens like pet dander, mould spores, and excess carbon dioxide. 4. Improve ventilation: Keeping the air flowing at home is a simple way to improve air quality. You can make this happen by opening doors and windows so outside air can flow in. Besides, vents and tiny spaces in the doorframe can also let in fresh air. To ensure that dust does not enter through the vents, you should regularly clean the air ducts and change filters at home.

  5. 5. Install Air conditioning Presently, many air conditions come with an air purifier to take care of the indoor air. One such AC is LG 4-way cassette AC. It has a five-step air purification system that helps remove odours, germs, and fine dust. You can clean this filter with water for semi-permanent usage.  6. Use indoor plants: Another way to clean the indoor air is to use house plants. They help reduce specific indoor air pollutants, including VOCs and fine particles. However, when planting, you must remember that all plants are not equal when it comes to removing pollutants. Some plants like Hedera helix, Dracaena, and Spathiphyllum are a better choice. Many factors like allergens, ventilation, pollutants, and pets can affect the air quality at your home. You must try to get rid of these sources to breathe in fresh air.
