Journey Through Cultures: Pierson Elementary's Global Exploration Project

Pierson Elementary School, with the support of the Laura Bush Foundation Grant, embarked on an exciting journey exploring world cultures during the 2013-2014 school year. Students researched different continents, creating maps and oral presentations. From studying Australia in Kindergarten to Europe in Third Grade, each class contributed to a rich tapestry of knowledge. The culmination involved a unique world tour with delightful snacks themed from each continent, offering students a taste of global diversity. Special thanks to all who contributed to this enriching experience!

  1. Book a Trip Around the World Pierson Elementary School 2013-2014

  2. Exciting News!!! Laura Bush Foundation Grant makes a study of world cultures possible for Pierson Elementary School students. 287 Books Added to the Collection!!

  3. So Many Wonderful Books!!

  4. Each grade level researches a different continent. Kindergarten studies Australia. Third grade studies Europe.

  5. The research begins…….

  6. Maps are made.

  7. Interesting facts and pictures are added to the maps.

  8. Students make oral presentations.

  9. The map projects are displayed in the media center.

  10. Students take a tour of the world.

  11. First stop - Africa

  12. Next stop -Europe

  13. Then on to South America-

  14. Teachers act as tour guides.

  15. Moving on through North America and Asia.

  16. Checking out Australia and the didgeridoo.

  17. Time for a snack from each of the seven continents.

  18. Treats provided by P.T.A. Snack Country/Continent Cookies with fig filling Morocco, Africa Gummy Bears Germany, Europe Fortune cookies China, Asia Kiwi Jelly Beans New Zealand, Oceania Plantain chips Panama, North America Guarana Soda Brazil, South America Ice Antarctica
