Identifying Atypical bHLH Proteins in Nelumbo: Insights from Arabidopsis Homologs

This study explores atypical bHLH (basic Helix-Loop-Helix) transcription factors in Nelumbo, drawing comparisons to their Arabidopsis counterparts. We identify key homologs based on BLAST searches of open reading frames for four genes: P1R1 (At5g57780), LONESOME HIGHWAY (At2g27230), PAR1/PAR2 (At2g42870/At3g58850), and KIDARI (At1g26945). The analysis reveals the conserved helix domains and provides insights into evolutionary relationships, functional roles, and potential applications in plant biology.
