How? • Dynamics GP Light User Licensing • Typically a fraction of the price of a Business Essentials or Advanced Management CAL. • Allows GP data retrieval • Allows GP data manipulation • Benefits? • Keeps all users on the same page; no need to sync data or wait for the nightly batch. • Little to no customizations required

  9. What is Required? • Dynamics GP 2010 • 32-bit compatible with SharePoint 2007 • 64-bit required for SharePoint 2010 • SharePoint • Windows SharePoint Services (WSS) 3.0 (“Free”) • Microsoft Office SharePoint Server (MOSS) 2007 • SharePoint Foundation 2010 (“Free”) • SharePoint Server 2010

Licensing Notes • Dynamics GP • BE and AM CALs are based on concurrent users • Light User CALs are based on named users • SharePoint • WSS or Foundation: CALs are based on AD users, no need to purchase separate CAL. • Server: a CAL is required for each named user; this includes Standard + Enterprise CALs if Enterprise Features are enabled.

  11. SharePoint Words of Wisdom • Build Outside of Business Portal • Sites, Lists, Libraries, Workflows, etc. • Isolate by separate Web Application if possible • Beware of the “Fab 40” Templates • No longer supported in SharePoint 2010
