  1. Disturbing Trend: American Teens Arrested for DUI, Drug Felonies Disturbing Trend: American Teens Arrested for DUI, Drug Felonies A 17-year old rammed a vehicle he had allegedly stolen from a gas station into a parked car in Rochester, Minnesota on May 2, 2018. He walked away from the scene of the crime, but was later arrested. Not only was he found to be “under the influence,” but he also allegedly possessed a gun and drugs at the time of crash. According to Rochester Police’s Lt. Mike Sadauskis, a search revealed a .380 caliber handgun in the vehicle, while a backpack containing 15 ounces of K2 (also known as synthetic marijuana) was found on the driveway. The teen was charged with the possession of stolen car and intent to sell synthetic cannabinoid. A 15-year-old boy was arrested in Rock Hill, South Carolina on May 1, 2018 for allegedly possessing ammunition and opioids, recovered from his backpack. As per reports, the quantity of oxycodone in his possession was between 4 and 14 grams, which makes him liable for felony trafficking charges under the local laws. It comes as an eye-opener for the authorities concerned as they said they could not recollect another instance where the drug felony suspect was as young as this teen. A 17-year-old allegedly mowed down a passerby and a dog and critically injured a couple in Medford, Oregon on April 29, 2018 after he lost control over the car he was driving. The youth was charged with driving under influence, endangering life and driving without a license. All these recently reported incidents from different parts of the United States indicate to a disturbing trend – teens doing drugs or alcohol and, in many cases, even dealing into addictive substances. At a time when they should have been busy shaping their future, the disoriented youth of the nation is living in the shadow of drugs, actively contributing to the epidemic that has been ravaging America. www.whiteriveracademy.com

  2. They drive under influence, resulting in tragic loss of human lives. They resort to drug trafficking for a few bucks. It is sad that instead of concentrating on school, college and grades, some youngsters are taking up drug dealership. Way to deal with teens on drugs The teen years are usually the most turbulent time in a person’s life. Not yet an adult and no longer a mamma’s boy, a teen suffers from angst and existentialist issues that were unheard of earlier. Though the times are tough, it is still not a reason why one should do drugs. Here are the reasons: Drugs can scar one’s life forever. If a teen is held accountable for drug-fueled crimes or accidents, it could get in the way of securing a good job. One may harbor the guilt and develop post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Drugs result in cognitive decline, memory issues and delayed learning. Not only that, teens doing drugs are more likely to drop out of school as they are unable to keep pace with their peers. The risks of developing substance use disorders (SUDs) increase when a person does drugs in teenage. Teens who abuse alcohol early could end up as either a victim or a perpetrator of a sexual or physical assault. While suspecting their teens for such activities and behaving accordingly could be dangerous, alertness on their part may help determine if the children are doing drugs. Staying away from home at odd hours, smelling of weed or alcohol, desiring solitude, and becoming increasingly irritable, missing drugs from the cabinet in home, disappearance of money or valuables, etc. are some of the indications parents should watch out for. However, rather than confronting, teens should be counselled and convinced for treatment at therapeutic schools for boys. Drug abuse programs, 12-step program for drug addiction, etc.are some of the ways that are usually recommended to deal with it.
