BOOSTER CLUB • Annual Athletic Department Expenditures -- $240,000.00 • Hanover County Funds -- $25,000 ($20,000/transportation, $5,000/uniforms and security) • Ticket Sales -- $140,000 • Regional/Conference Reimbursements/Fundraisers/Misc -- $20,000 • Where does the rest come from?????? • BOOSTERS – BOOSTERS – BOOSTERS • WHAT DO THEY DO? • Set Up Multiple Fundraisers • Run Concessions at Football games • Run the Spirit Shack/Online Store • Raise Monies to Offset Various Costs Associated with Athletic Department (Raider Royale, Sponsorships, Drive 4 UR School) • Communication Support • Organize Clean Up Efforts and Upgrades for Facilities • Monthly Meetings (1st Monday of Every Month) • Various Committees

VHSL Eligibility • Student in “Good Standing” • Pass 5/Take 5 (previous semester determines eligibility) • VHSL Physical -- Must have a VHSL Physical on File (After 5/1/18) -- Concussion Page -- All 5 pages filled out • Age Rule • Shall not reach 19 on or before the first day of August of the current school year. • Transfer Rule • Must fill out “Transfer Papers” • Semester Rule • Eligible for 8 consecutive semesters from the date he/she entered the ninth grade.

  10. Code of ConductGoverning Participation in Extracurricular Activities • Students may not participate in or attend extracurricular activities during the specified period of an in-school or out-of-school suspension for violations of the Code of Student Conduct. • The principal, the coach, and/or the sponsor shall have the discretion to determine if a student is permitted to participate in the next scrimmage/game/activity following the completion of an in-school suspension, out-of-school suspension, or Saturday School assignment. Students on long-term suspensions (more than 10 days) for violations involving the use and/or possession of alcohol and/or illegal drugs are not allowed to participate or attend extracurricular activities for the period of the suspension AND for a period of 60 calendar days during which school activities take place from the date of the suspension, including summer vacation and school holidays. Long-term suspensions cause the student to lose participation privileges during that period, as well.

Code of ConductGoverning Participation in Extracurricular Activities • Each coach/sponsor will establish team/club rules which will be distributed and discussed with participants prior to the beginning of the activity. Students are expected to comply with team/club rules and could forfeit their eligibility through noncompliance. • Students must attend all scheduled classes or an approved school activity on the day of competition/activity to be eligible to participate in extracurricular activities on that day. The principal or his/her designee may make exceptions to this standard for students with extenuating and/or unusual circumstances. • Students assigned detention by teachers and/or administrators must report the detention to the coach or sponsor. The coach or sponsor will determine if any additional action is to be taken concerning the student's participation in the scheduled activity.
