Build a resume, complete online surveys, and manage timelines and deadlines for making decisions about colleges and careers • Research colleges – Compare GPA, standardized test scores, and other statistics to actual historical data from our school for students who have applied and been admitted in the past • Research careers – Research hundreds of careers and career clusters, and take career assessments • Create plans for the future – Create goals and to-dos, and complete tasks assigned by the school to better prepare your student for future college and career goals

  23. Change and Flexibility • The IGP is not the same as registration. The IGP should be used to assist students in selecting courses during registration. • Remember that IGP’s are tentative plans. People can and do change ideas and direction. • Desired classes do not always fit in the actual students’ schedules and sometimes there is not enough school-wide interest to keep the course. • Changes to the IGP worksheet/plan can be made after the individual meeting! • It may be helpful to get teacher recommendations for course levels.

  24. Next Steps… No postcards will be mailed with appointment times. If you would like to attend your child’s IGP Conference, please see your counselor after this meeting to schedule an appointment. If you don’t sign up for an appointment, we will still meet individually with your child and they can share information from the meeting with you. Feel free to contact your child’s counselor any time during the school year!! Thank you for coming!
