  2. Late 70’s and the 80’s: Recovery of national rights and institutions • Laws were passed to ensure the right to education in Catalan: law for linguistic normalization. • The method of linguistic immersion in Catalan was adopted to reinforce the use of the language by young generations

  3. As schools required textbooks in Catalan, publishers began creating materials to cover the needs of the market. • Almost all curricular areas and studies are covered by the materials created by publishers • No policy of dinamization is taken • The government only watches for the quality and adequacy of materials produced • The government acts as a spearhead to foster the development of materials in new areas, such as newcomers (see “Vincles”).
