ScarredTanka The storm wakes me up From a sleep so sound and true But when I reach back I fell when you once were here The presence of you is gone The way you curled up At the bottom of my bed I would stroke your back And rub your belly for fun I miss when you woke me up I return to sleep To run, jump, and play with you In the fields of life You'll always be missed by me My best friend you'll always be

  3. ReallyTanka My heart is in pain From the lies that you told me And that's not even right Come clean and be a real man And tell me the truth right now Where were you last night? Creeping round like some petty thief Have you seen your face? The crumbs on your chin are proof The sauce on your lips still there Why must you do this? Don't I feed you good at all? For you to eat that Shows that you don't care for me And it was my momma's pie

Tanka The light from the sun through as I sit and think Of the days we had Once knew before those were Now memories of our past To hear you laughing At that show you liked so much To hear you sing out When you heard the price is right The days we shared are now gone I think back in time When you told me not to cry And I always did You always helped me get through I will always love From the bottom of my heart As you always said Will walk with my head up high And never forget that you love me

Tanka The wind blows past me On this very cold winter’s night The chill of this night Freezes my bones to the core I shiver and my teeth clank I sing to numb it As I walk in the cold Air To hurry way home fire Crackling away at the house As I reach the house I look back into the night To trace the walked paths Of the journeys that have crossed On this cold , brisk winter night

  6. Haiku The soft morning dew, Steadied itself to take flight To cover the day. The sun breaks through, To shine the rays of morning For all near and far. The baby birds chirp, As their mothers feed them worms So that they can fly. The breeze greets the trees, As their roots nestle deep down The flowers bloom wide. The day has begun, And the night has gone away Rise and shine my friend.

  7. ‘’ The colors of love Like a rainbow after rain Oh’ let me explain, The red is my heart, So ready to love you back Whenever you need The yellow is pure, Like a babies smile that’s kind And his mothers touch. The pink is so sweet, Like the kisses from you mom And a hug from dad. The green is for go, To the depths of the deep sea For another kiss The purple passion Of needing your love near you Just because you do The orange is quick, Like a hummingbird in flight Tasting the nectar. The blue is for deep, For how many I’m in love with You and only you

  8. ‘’ No one can blame you, So now you listen to me This needs to end now. The way you listen, No one can hear you out loud No one will listen. No one can hear you, We need to know you are here We need to know you Why speak up, So that we may hear your voice And we know that you are here. Now we can hear you, Your voice so loud and clear Welcome to the world.

  9. ‘’ • The night is too dark, • I need the light to find you • I don’t like it here. • The night is too loud, • The sounds of the world scare me • I need you with me. • The darkness is mean, • I feel the bite of the night • And the teeth of fear. • The darkness is big, • It swallows the light like tar • And keeps it till light. • I don’t like the night, • Cause there is nothing to see • Till the light comes through.

  10. sonnet The waterfall that my soul seek Hides on a mountain On top of a high peak Near a crystal fountain Where my tears fell small I cry a watch them float away As I try not to fall and let out a call To let my dreams know I’m on the way I try not to let my feelings show Because that’s not how I was taught When I’m alone I let my feelings show So in my mind I fought To keep them inside so I run to my mountain To talk, hold, and drink from my miracle fountain.
