My experiences shadowing leaders in a physical therapy clinic and a high school athletic department provided insights into the distinct roles of management and leadership. At Oak Ridge Physical Therapy, I witnessed effective patient care while recognizing the innovative characteristics of leadership. At Northwest Guilford High School, I observed managerial practices focused on efficiency and organizational responsibilities. Both experiences emphasized the significance of trust, interpersonal skills, and the impact of diversity in team dynamics. My reflections highlight the differences between leadership and management while fostering an understanding of effective organizational practices.
