  2. This Week’s Announcements • Weds. Sept. 26th- B.E.S.T. College Night @ BHS Cafeteria 6:30-8:30PM Find out what you want to do and where you want to go after high school! Meet with college and career recruiters, find out about scholarship opportunities from colleges, and more. • Buy your BISD Hope Strong t-shirts for $15. Order forms are in the front office. Please give money to Mr. Gordon

  3. What are goals and why Set them? Goals are personal results that a person hopes to achieve in the future. Studies show that when people set goals, they are more likely to: • Experience less stress • Have better concentration and memory • Feel happier and more satisfied • Be motivated • Experience increased self-confidence

  4. What are your Goals? There are short-term and long-term goals. For this assignment, let’s define short-term as anything within six months. Examples may include: doing well on the PSAT in November, getting your driver’s permit in January, or getting an A on a test next week. Long-term can be six months to five years. Examples may include: getting accepted and attending Texas A&M University, saving $2000 to buy a car, or traveling to Japan.

  5. Writing Activity Brainstorm and jot down three short-term and three long-term goals. *Your goals must be written down. In the next class, we will learn strategies to accomplish these goals.
