The Floating Hospital Community Health Clinic History • The Floating Hospital was originally founded in 1866 to provide health care to newspaper boys, immigrants and others. • TFH used donated ships and free docking space to provide the healthcare services. • We are proud of our history so we kept our name, even though we are now no longer on a ship but in a land- based clinic located in Long Island City, Queens
