INDIANTOWN, FLORIDA • POPULATION: Mostly Hispanic farm workers, with more than 94 percent of the community’s children qualify for free or reduced cost lunches at school. • OUR CLUB MEMBERS: Our Indiantown branch has 147 enrolled members, 59 percent of which are Hispanic. We have recently relocated to the heart of the New Hope community, a subsidized, family-friendly neighborhood. Seventy-five percent of residents are Hispanics from Mexico, Puerto Rico and Guatemala. The 4,000-square-foot community center has a kitchen. PORT SALERNO, FLORIDA • POPULATION: In a waterfront former commercial fishing village with a history of economic difficulty, nearly 70 percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunches at school. • OUR CLUB MEMBERS: There are 156 children enrolled at our recently renovated facility in Port Salerno, 25 percent of which are Hispanic. We are located next to well-used county sport fields and a playground. Inside, we have a warming kitchen.
