  1. The ABC’s of the Solar System By: Homeroom 106, 110, & 202

  2. A is for asteroid • An asteroid is a medium-sized rock fragment left over from the formation of the solar system. • Most asteroids are in a ring between the orbits of Mars and Jupiter known as the Asteroid Belt. • Even though they are small, they are dangerous and can crash into Earth. By: Zyaire.C

  3. Bis for Black hole • A region of space in which the gravitational field is so strong that not even light can escape. • Forms when very massive stars collapse. • Around the black hole there is a mathematically defended surface called an event horizon By: Jahsir

  4. C is for Constellation • A constellation is a group of stars that form a picture • Constellations can group together and they form a constellation. • The stars that form a constellation actually don’t belong together. By: Charlotte

  5. Dis fordark matter • A hypothetical form of matter invisible to electromagnetic radiation, postulated to account for gravitational forces in the universe. • Astronomers know dark matter is there by the influence of its gravity. • Most of space is dark matter it is particles of gas and dust. By: Roman

  6. Eis for Earth • Earth is the 3 planet from the sun. • Earth is 1 of the inner planets. • Earth is the only planet that supports life. By: Jordan

  7. F is for Fornjot • Fornjot is a moon of Saturn • Fornjot was discovered in 2004 • Fornjot is the 42nd moon of Saturn • By Brandon

  8. G is for galaxy • A large group of stars bound together by gravity. Quite often, the galaxy will form a spiral or circular shape. • There is 5 different galaxy's such as the Andromeda galaxy, two colliding, a pinwheel galaxy and a sombrero galaxy. • A Galaxy is hundreds of millions of stars put and smushed together. By: Genesis

  9. H is for Halimede • It is a moon of Neptune . • It was discovered in august 2002. • It was discovered by Matthew JHolman. • It is grey. By: Kevin

  10. Iis for Io • Io is one of the moons of Jupiter. • Io has 400 active volcanos. • Io is one of Jupiter's second largest moons. By: Yagmur

  11. Jis for Jupiter • Jupiter is the fifth planet from the sun. • Jupiter is the biggest planet in your solar system. • The red spot on Jupiter is as earth size storm. By: Jaquan

  12. A distance of a ray of light that would travel in one year • One light year is equal to six trillion miles. • Olaus Roemer was the first person to figure out the distance of light in one year. Lis for light year By: David

  13. Mis for Mars • Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. • Mars has seasons just like Earth. • Mars has a large volcano on it. By: Abigail

  14. Mis for Milky Way • The milky way is the name of the galaxy that contains the sun, planets, and stars. • The Milky Way is about 100 light years across . • It is shaped like a spiral. By: Chane

  15. Mis for multiple star By: Ashanti • Multiple stars are group of stars that are close together. • Most multiple star systems are triple star. • Multiple star are held together by gravity.

  16. Nis for Neptune • Neptune is the eighth planet from the sun. • Neptune is a cold windy planet. • Neptune is covered in thin white clouds. By: Chardae

  17. Nis for NEPTUNE • NEPTUNE IS THE EIGHTH PLANET IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM. • THE STRONGEST WINDS IN THE SOLAR SYSTEM HAVE BEEN RECORDED ON NEPTUNE. • NEPTUNE HAS DARK SPOT SIMILAR TO THE GREAT RED SPOT ON JUPITER. By: Yesenia

  18. Nis for Neutron star. By: Taya A neutron Star is the remnants of a dead star. Neutron stars are city-size stellar. They spin very quickly.

  19. O is for Orbit • The path an object takes around another. • Objects usually orbit counter clock wise. • The planets orbit the sun. By: Brielle

  20. P is for Pluto • Pluto is a cold and iced world orbiting the sun many Millan miles away. • Pluto orbits beyond the orbit of Neptune. By: Deandre

  21. Ris for Rotate • When an object spins it is said to be rotating. • Most planets rotate counter clockwise. • The one planet that rotates clockwise is the planet Uranus. By: Tiana

  22. sis for Saturn • Saturn is the sixth planet from the sun. • Saturn is surrounded by huge rings made out of icy rocks. • Saturn is the second largest planet in the solar system. By: Marcos

  23. s for sun • The sun is a star. • The sun is a massive ball of gas which produces huge amounts of heat and light. By: Paradise

  24. Tis for Titan • Titan is one of Saturn’s moons. • Titan is the only moon with clouds. • Titan is the largest moon of Saturn. By: Keyaira

  25. Uis for Uranus • The definition of Uranus is Uranus is the 7th planet from the sun. • A fact about Uranus is that it is the third largest planet • In 1781 Uranus was first planet to be discovered. • By: Nakiyah

  26. V is for Venus • Venus is the third planet from the sun. • The thick clouds also means the heat escapes from the planet meaning temperatures can be 980. • Venus is the closet planet to earth. By: austin
