Primary Purpose of Distinguished Lecturer • Being an ambassador to ISEA and exposure science in general • “Preach to the choir” • “Preach to the congregation and the lost” • Exposure assessors in occupational studies • Exposure assessors in environmental microbiology • Exposure assessors in developing countries

My Approach • Take advantage of invited talks at academic institutions and professional meetings • American Association for the Advancement of Science (St. Louis) • University of California - Davis • University of Georgia – Athens • Society of Risk Analysis (Washington) • Dioxin 2006 (Oslo) • Health Effects Sciences Institute (Puerto Rico)

  5. Trip to Peru • Took advantage of Luke Naeher’s ISEA’s Early Career Award (funded by ACC) on field trip to Peru • Accompanied Luke Naeher, Phil Williams (Acting Dean of CPH at UGA) and Manuel Aguilar • World wind trip of portions of Peru

  6. This Trip Highlighted ISEA Needs for • Improved ISEA pamphlet describing membership • Improved website describing ISEA • Perhaps a monthly lecture 101 pertaining to exposure science: exposure prevention, exposure science… • Close collaboration between DL committee and membership committee including group fees, journal access, website access to developing countries • Work with NIH to promote attendance of Fogarty award winners and international collaborators to present at ISEA • Become a bridge between industry and legislature
