The story so far... • E-Government target - 2005 • 2 previous meetings: • Summers 2001 & 2002 • helpful in establishing requirements • delays due to clash with other Oftel IS projects • now User Requirement documented (us & yours as previously stated) • out to tender & awarded contract to MMT
Project Plan • May 2003 - contract awarded • System Requirement Documented - by July • development and testing - to October • User testing - October & November • Internal roll-out - by December • External roll-out - from January 2004

Overview: ONUS in action • Registered User logs on • User selects process: • Registration Update • Apply for Numbers • Automatic ONUS response generated • Change creates a Case (Numbers Reserved) • Oftel NU processes Case (3-weeks) • Oftel makes changes (eg, Reservation to Allocation) • Oftel responds to Applicant
Two points • on cost -v- benefits basis we are not automating external process for: • Number withdrawal & • Number transfer • such Cases will be initiated internally following e-mails, fax or letter (business as normal)
Registration • to apply for numbers Communication Providers (CPs) must be Registered • all registration will be logged on ONUS • replace existing Annex to Application Forms
Registration - process • having Registered, CPs will receive automatic acknowledgement from ONUS • registration generates a Case • once Case processed, Oftel will issue a temporary password by e-mail • on 1st log-in Registrant will have to create own unique password • (no need for use of E-Signatures)
How many Users per CP? • good question… • discuss: • options • security implications • collective decision
Registration - content • Questions • as per ‘Annex’ to Application Form • provide us with all information to assess CP’s network/ services & therefore eligibility for particular type of numbers • information updatable by CPs so as to support applications for, eg, new numbering with a new system diagram or service information
Making applications • on-line only by Registered Users • secure • confidential • process: • as with new or revised Registrations, creates a Case for Oftel • auto ONUS acknowledgement • decision from Oftel w/i 3-weeks
Applications - content • Questions: • as per relevant Application Form • need to provide Oftel with all specific information to assess application (in addition to generic info in Registration section)
Numbering Data of OFCOM web site two types of information: • CP specific, eg: • ongoing applications • what numbers has CP got • General, eg: • who’s got what numbers • what’s the area code for...
