  2. Brief description of career • Professional basketball players are responsible for doing their best on the court in games and in practice and to represent their team in public. While pro basketball players may not have a legal obligation to serve as role models for youngsters, a player's future employment can be connected to how well or badly that player represents the team.

  3. Education /Training • Have good grades • Practice a lot • Attend camps and clinics to improve skills • Be a star player on a high school team • Be a player on a division 1 college team

  4. Salary • Get $79,460 per year to start.

  5. Attributes & Abilities • Team work • Know how to dribble and shoot • Training at a early age • Unusually naturally talented

  6. Job outlook • Grow 22 percent from 2012 to 2020

  7. Duties • Keep the equipment they use in their sport in good condition. • Play or compete in their sport, obeying the rules. • Practice daily, and get enough rest; players must do their best in every game.
