The National Organization for Human Services (NOHS) “The Human Services profession is one which promotes improved service delivery systems by addressing not only the quality of direct services, but also by seeking to improve accessibility, accountability, and coordination among professionals and agencies in service delivery.” (NOHS) http://www.nationalhumanservices.org

What is Saddleback College’s HS Program? • Saddleback College’s HS program is a lower division course of study for students who what an Associate’s Degree, Certificate of Achievement, and/or plan to transfer to a 4-year college or university. • The HS program serves as an introduction to careers in social work, criminal justice, community-based corrections, counseling, public health and other helping professions. • Associated roles include, but are not limited to: mentoring, advocacy, counseling, case management, and house manager. Yes? • Associate in Science (AS) Degree in HS How! • Completing the certificate program, and a minimum of 60 units including the general education requirements • Maintain an overall GPA of 2.0 or higher • A minimum of 12 units must be completed at Saddleback College Overview of Human Services

Human Services Certificate Requirements • Completion of 37-units for a Certificate of Achievement: • Alcohol and Drug Studies • Community-Based Corrections • Generalist • Includes the completion of two fieldwork courses • Completion of 29-units for a Certificate of Achievement: • Mental Health Worker • Includes the completion of one Cooperative Work Experience (CWE) Overview of Human Services
