  2. LOS VERBOS IRREGULARES Los verbosirregulares no siguenlasreglas. (Irregular verbs do not follow the rules.)

  3. IR – to go IR is the most irregular verb. When conjugated, it does not look anything like its infinitive. (yo) voy (nosotros) vamos (tú) vas (él) va (ellos) van (ella) (ellas) (Ud.) (Uds.) IR is one of the 6 most important verbs in Spanish!

  4. IR IR is almost always followed by “a” because most of the time, a person is going TO a destination. Exceptions: • IR en carro – to go in a car (by car) • IR en el bus – to go on the bus (by bus) • IR a pie – to go on foot (by foot / to walk)

  5. DAR – to give DAR is an irregular verb. When conjugated, it is irregular in “yo”. (yo) doy (nosotros) damos (tú) das (él) da (ellos) dan (ella) (ellas) (Ud.) (Uds.) It is regular in its other forms.

  6. DAR AND USES • Yodoy los regalos a mis amigos. • Yodoyuna fiesta. • ¿Qué das tú? • La profesora da los exámenes. • La profesora da la tarea. • La profesora da los apuntesa los estudiantes.

  7. ESTAR – to be (location / state of being (feelings)) • ESTAR is irregular in “yo” and it has accent marks in 3 out of 5 forms, which are essential (necessary). (yo) estoy (nosotros) estamos (tú) estás (él) está (ellos) están (ella) (ellas) (Ud.) (Uds.) • ESTAR is one of the 6 most important verbs in Spanish!

  8. ESTAR – to be (yo) estoy( I am)(nosotros) estamos(we are) (tú) estás(you are) (él) está(he is) (ellos) están(they are) (ella) (she is) (ellas) (Ud.) (you are) (Uds.) (all of you are)

  9. ESTAR AND USES Yoestoy en la clase. (location) Yoestoy en la escuela. ¿Dóndeestástú? Yoestoybien. (state of being / feelings) Yoestoy content(a). Yoestoycansado(a). ¿Cómoestástú?
