  2. Ruth Wakefield • Born in June 17, 1905 • Died in January 10, 1977 • Wanted to be a dietician and a food lecturer

  3. What is she famous for? • Ruth is famous for inventing chocolate chip cookies • One day she was baking and ran out of chocolate, so broke up chocolate pieces and when they came out, she realized she made cookies.

  4. More about her!! • She bought a little toll house • It was served as a haven for road weary travelers • She baked for her guests who had spread the word about her deserts • After baking her first chocolate chip cookies in that house, that were the name tollhouse cookies came from, as she signed a agreement whit nestle to use their chocolate.

Her career! • She wrote a book called “Ruth Wakefield’s Toll House Tried & True Recipes”. • It was published in 1936, and sold thirty nine copies • It taught people how to make the famous chocolate chip cookie, and other cuisine’s she made • She never thought this cookie would have a big impact on life today Doing Good!!!

  6. Her famous recipe • It didn’t exactly change the world, but made it a lot better • Before this cookie, nothing like this ever existed • With out this cookie ever being made, all the other great bakers would have never even been

  7. Chocolate chip cookie today! • They are still the same today • People may bake them different, but you can never change a toll house chocolate chip cookie • This cookie is the national state cookie
