  2. Introduction • This PowerPoint will be about crocodiles. Please enjoy.

  3. What do crocodiles eat? • Crocodiles usually hunt fish, birds, turtles and small animals. • Young crocodiles eat insects, shrimp, snails, small fish, tadpoles, and frogs.

  4. How does it get its food? • Usually, crocodiles hide under water until its prey comes close. Then it bites its prey’s body. If it is lucky, it might run away but it will die soon. • If the prey is larger, the crocodile will twist the enemies’ body and pull it under the water. • Their eyes and nostrils are high on their heads so the body can be hidden underwater.

  5. Physical Characteristics • Crocodiles are usually about 10~18 feet long. • Crocodiles are reptiles. • They have sharp teeth. • Their life span is about 50~70 years.

  6. Where does it live? • Crocodiles live in swamps. • They are endangered. • They are protected in many places. In some places there are lots of crocodiles.

  7. How does it protect itself? • Crocodiles have sharp teeth. They can use their teeth to protect themselves from danger. • They can hide under water. If anything dangerous comes, it moves very quickly. • They can swim very fast.

  8. Life Cycle • Crocodiles usually mate in October. • Their nest can be made in about two weeks. • The mother crocodile can lay about 60 eggs in a few hours. • The eggs hatch in two months.

  9. Fun Facts • Did you know that some crocodiles can live more than 100 years? • The largest crocodile ever found was 14 feet long! • The smallest crocodile ever found was105 centimeters long!
