  1. GOES-R COPC Action Item 1 COPC Action Item 2012-2.7: Each OPC to provide anticipated GOES-R implementation strategy; expressly addressing data receipt mechanism/methodology and impacts to processing infrastructure. • GOES-R is scheduled to launch in the second quarter of FY16. • Air Force: • Plan: Modify (a.k.a. retrofit) existing antenna • Conducting engineering and cost analyses • Building project plan to receive, ingest, process, store, integrate, and provide via services architecture • Min requirement is what’s currently used in Ops today • Alternative plan: Procure new antenna (if less expensive) • 1CY15 – Present proposed project plan to AFWA leadership • 2-4CY15 – Finalize project plan; place on contract and government task lists • NAVO & FNMOC: • Based on the a recently convened CNMOC ESRP Summit, NAVO and FNMOC have been identified as needing GOES-R direct download, just as both organizations currently possess. NAVO has identified a cost estimate and included the hardware acquisition and enhancements in the FY14 METOC Satellite Readiness Plan. The Readiness Plan is provided for SPAWAR to identify current/future needs. • Bottom line: Both, NAVO and FNMOC are targeted for GOES-R direct download capability. Funding it will be another issue. CSAB recommends keeping this action open.
