  8. Policies • Heat/Water Breaks • LCSL Games - Shortage of referees

  9. LCSL – Shortage of Refs If a Louisiana Competitive League Game does not have 3 referees, the game can be played as long as both coaches agree. Every effort should be made to contact the assignor to see if referees can be obtained in a reasonable time. If both coaches do not agree to play the game with less than 3 referees, then the team that had been the home team and was responsible for scheduling the referees will give up their home field advantage for the rescheduled game. If the game was originally to be played at a neutral location, then the game will be re scheduled again at a neutral location. The game that was not played due to 3 referees not being present will go through the reschedule process as shown in the LCSL Procedure document for games not having 3 referees. As a last resort if there is no common date, the game will be played on the makeup date scheduled for the applicable season when the game was originally scheduled, either Fall or Spring. Anytime a game does not have three referees at a league game, LSA needs to be notified. This notification must be done regardless if the teams agree to play the game or not.

  10. Observations & Recap

  11. Kudos Bob, Meant to tell you this morning how pleased I was to see the support from the referee at our game on Saturday. It was our first game of the season and the first to play larger field, six players with a goalie. Our assigned ref didn’t show up and I’m not sure if the woman who stepped in was the supervisor or exactly her role. Clearly she is experienced and loves the game. What was more impressive were her teaching moments as she made calls and helped the girls understand the rules of play. Our sideline dads could have used some of her help as well J I know how challenging soccer on this scale week in and week out and thought you should know the positives that reflect well on the caliber of BRSA. If you can find out who this referees was please pass along the thanks of this parent. Great Job! Christine Delmar

  12. Kudos Hey GaryI know sometimes refs get a bad rap so just wanted to pass along that the group of refs I had for my u15 game Sunday at 3 (field 12) were the best I have ever dealt with. They made a great team and we very very fair and just all around courteous and nice (not always the case) anyway I like to give credit where credit is due. It was a great opening weekend of games. Thanks for all you do!Thanks a million!! Well Done! Tim Boyle, Robyn Buquoi, Mike McDonald
