  2. Major tasks: • Simulation (FDTD) • Practice the FTDT method (Fullwave of Rsoft) • Experiment • OLEDs and Nanoparticlesfor light extraction ( samplesfrom Taiwan ) • Poster

  3. Simulation: Objective :Study the response of photonic structure for excitations in different directions Structure to be simulated: monolayer/multilayer of nanoparticles Method: 3D FTDT Excitation Monitor • Detect the signal, • Transmision and reflectionspectras ( Fourier transform)

  4. Simulation • 2D dielectric cylinder in Air: ncylinder = 3.4 nbackground(air)=1 • Simulation type: 2D FDTD • 2D PWE

  5. TE Polarization • TE PWE

  6. TM Polarization No complete disappearance of detected signal, compared to TE case  good agreement with Band diagram (PWE)

  7. Nanoparticles and OLEDs : light extraction • Samples with Nanoparticle : • Nanoparticle deposition made in Taiwan • Size of nanoparticles: 1.3µm • Référencé Samples: • prepared in clean room OLED structure: Glass/ITO/CUPC/TPD/AlQ 3/Al • Characterization : • Emission spectra ( intensity vs wavlength) • IVL characteristic Result to beanalysed

  8. Perspective • 3D FDTD simulation for monolayer/multilayer of nanoparticles • Nanoparticles and OLEDs (light extraction) • Optical characterization • Self assembly of nano particles

  9. Thank you
