  2. 기아 타이거즈 1982년 1월 30일 해태 타이거즈로 창단했다. 2001년 기아가 구단을 인수하여 KIA 타이거즈로 재출발하였다.KIA 타이거즈는 10번이나 한국시리즈에서 우승한 한국 프로야구의 최고 명문 구단이다. 1983, 1986, 1987, 2009년(KIA 타이거즈)에 한국시리즈에서 우승을 차지하였다.KIA타이거즈 한국 야구 스타들의 요람이기도 이강철, 이대진, 이용규 등 프로야구 스타들이 모두 KIAX타이거즈 선수들이다. 전남-광주 지역이 연고 지이며 광주무등 경기장이 홈 구장이다.
